1) What is the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP)

The SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) is open to all Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents, particularly supporting mid-career professionals in developing industry-specific skills, enhancing their job prospects, and enabling transitions to different sectors or roles. It’s a flexible train-and-place initiative offered on both a part-time and full-time basis, with durations ranging from 03 to 12 months.


2) Do I have to pay for the SCTP? If yes, how much are the course fees and funding available?

Please check the fees for each SCTP programme in the “Available SCTP certification programmes” chart above.

Available Course Fees Funding:

  • Baseline subsidy of up to 70% of course fees
  • Enhanced funding subsidy of up to 90% of course fees for Singapore citizens aged 40 years old and above under SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy

3) Who is eligible for the additional programmes fee funding support under SCTP?

For those Singaporean citizens with greater needs, they will enjoy additional programme fee funding support of up to 95% of programme fees.

To be eligible, one has to meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Long-term unemployed individuals (unemployed for six months or more); or
  • Persons with Disabilities


4) Do I need to have certain minimum academic qualifications to sign up for the SCTP?

Please refer to the general admission requirements for the SCTP programmes below. For more information, please email us at

  • Any WSQ Certificate or GCE ‘N’ Level or 1 to 2 years of experience in the hospitality or F&B industry
  • Qualifications of equivalent standard may be recognised on a case-to-case basis
  • Interview may apply for applicants who do not meet equivalent academic qualifications or expected duration in workplace experience


5) Will SHATEC help me to find a job?

SHATEC will provide career advisory and assistance as part of the training and connect trainees to relevant employers to help them in their job search. While SHATEC strives to assist trainees in finding job placement, please note that job placement upon programme completion is not guaranteed.

Upon completion of any of our SCTP programmes, SHATEC provides our graduates with the further education advice and opportunity to advance into a SHATEC International Diploma / Higher Diploma leading to bachelor’s degree if they desire to continue with their education.
