MOU Signing between GoGlobal and SHATEC

SHATEC Orchard was honoured to host the GoGlobal – ASIAN C-NERGY: Empowering SMEs for Global Success (Taiwan Series) hybrid event yesterday, a significant gathering that brought together leading figures in the Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality ecosystem across Asia. The event drew an impressive lineup of speakers and attendees from diverse regions, including Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Among the prominent figures were Dr hc Azeeza Jalaludeen, the Founder-Director of GoGlobal Accelerator, Ms Dewi Suratty, Founder & CEO of Dawn Horizon, and Mr Cao Xuan Thang, Commercial Counsellor of Vietnam Embassy.

Dr Azeeza set the tone for the event with an inspiring keynote address, highlighting the mission of GoGlobal, “We aim to transform 100K businesses by 2028 through nurturing a global community that thrives on conscious capitalism in the business and wellness tourism industry.”

Ms Calicia Jasmine Lim, Assistant Director of CLASS @ SHATEC, followed with an insightful presentation on SHATEC Orchard’s offerings, emphasising the school’s commitment to upskill and reskill Singaporeans. She shared, “With the support and initiative of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), our courses are more accessible than ever, empowering individuals to enhance their careers in a dynamic hospitality industry.”

Following the industry speakers, each took the stage in turn to share their insights. Among them was Mr Azzad Ahmad, Team Lead of CFS Islamic Banking at Maybank, who provided a fascinating perspective on Islamic banking; particularly enlightening for those unfamiliar with the concept. He further went on to highlight how Maybank’s partners can capitalise on the halal industry which is projected to grow to US$2.8 trillion globally by 2025 to expand their businesses on a global scale.

This prestigious event not only provided a platform for sharing insights but also marked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SHATEC and GoGlobal, a partnership poised to establish a framework to promote and advance the principles of conscious tourism within the hospitality and tourism industry.

The event concluded with a lively networking session, where industry professionals and business leaders exchanged ideas and explored potential collaborations.
